DBL-RBL JV’s winning bid was ₹1,503.63 crore. This bid was 16.87% higher than GMRL’s estimated cost of ₹1,286 crore, which means the contract will likely head to a negotiation table before it is finalized.

This project has been a long time coming. The central government approved the line in June 2023, and it’s been a frustrating wait to reach this stage. Now, all eyes are on GMRL to see how quickly they can finalize the deal, as retendering would be costly and time-consuming.

In other news for the project, DB Engineering & Consulting – Hill International JV was recently named the preferred bidder for the General Consultant contract, and an official Letter of Acceptance (LoA) was reportedly issued in mid-July.
